EFT, or tapping, as it is colloquially called, is a form of Energy Psychology, with its roots in acupuncture, one of the oldest forms of meridian therapy. In a nutshell, EFT involves tapping on specific points – called ‘acupoints’ – on the body with one’s fingertips, in a particular sequence, while simultaneously recalling and verbalising a trauma. Once all the emotion is cleared, we then proceed to incorporate positive affirmations to replace the old, negative thoughts.
EFT in it’s current form has been around since 1995, and has continued to grow and change since then. One of the best things about EFT is that it is perfectly safe, quick, and you can do it yourself! EFT can be used for physical pain, emotional wounds, fears and phobias, limiting beliefs, and so much more.
