About Me

Calling all explorers of the self.

Self-help. Self-improvement. Bookshelves piled high with motivational titles. Courses signed up for, diligently started, sometimes never completed. Always searching, reaching for more. “Seek and ye shall find” says the Bible, and we’ve taken that seriously, looking everywhere for our hopes and dreams. This can take us down some pretty strange paths, and we tread them, regardless of how weird they are, or how exhausted we are. And yet, at the end of the day, we can barely meet our own eyes in the mirror. We fall so far short of our own expectations that ‘success’ seems like a figment of our imagination.

If this sounds at all familiar, I’d like to invite you to pause here for a moment while I tell you the story of how Effortless Breathlessness came to be. One summer morning four years ago, I was practising pranayama under the eagle eye of my yoga teacher, and had just completed a round of Kapalabhati. If you’re doing it correctly, there is a period at the end of the series of exhalations when your lungs are completely empty, and there is absolutely no desire to take a breath. When I finally inhaled after about 20 seconds, my teacher said that this phenomenon was called effortless breathlessness. And that phrase resonated in my soul, reverberating like a gong, until the ripples engulfed me. Effortless breathlessness! Isn’t that what we’re really looking for, under it all? The exquisite juxtaposition between wholeness and emptiness, where we settle into the knowledge that we’re complete, just the way we are, and are simultaneously ready to receive what the Universe has to offer.

Effortless Breathlessness is a place for self-love, kindness and compassion. It is a place where we celebrate our bodies as our homes. When things get rough, it’s nice to have a little corner where someone cares, and offers nothing but acceptance and understanding. If you’d like a little more positivity and encouragement in your life, and you’re ready to get still and look within, subscribe to my newsletter, and get updates with easy tips to increase your body-confidence, relearn what true self-care looks like for you, and news about the latest events and offers. Amrita_MadhusudanWelcome! I’m Amrita, your facilitator on your self-love and body confidence journey. I’m someone who’s been in the trenches, and has spent her whole life learning. For most of my life, this learning was academic, culminating in 4 years doing research and studying neuroscience in Switzerland. At that point, my life changed dramatically. A huge health scare led to my life going off its hitherto neat tracks, and, I’m not going to lie, I floundered. And from that floundering, I grew in ways I couldn’t have imagined. I used both conventional medicine and alternative healing modalities to get physically well, and learned ways of healing emotionally that have changed my life. Which is not to say that I don’t have bad moments every now and then when I back-slide into patterns of negativity. I’m human – I do! But I’ve figured out ways of getting out of that funk, both gently and kick-in-the-pants style, and I’m always better for it.

I’m a certified practitioner in EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques), Matrix Reimprinting, NLP (Neurolinguistic Programming), Hypnotherapy, and Breakthrough Coaching with Timeline Technology. My scientific training and neuroscience research has honed my ability to get to the root of issues. I’m also an author, and have contributed a chapter on EFT to an upcoming book ‘The Alternative Well-Being Sciences’. Some of my articles will soon appear in digital magazines like Smart Healthy Women and This Woman Can. I love connecting with people, and treat confidences as sacred.

If you’re here, you’re looking for ways to be all that you can be, even if you’re not quite sure what that is, or how to get there. Maybe you’ve got behavioural patterns that hold you back. Maybe you’ve put your life on hold till… you reach goal weight, you find your real calling, you get that promotion, you meet your perfect partner. And while you wait, life is passing you by. I want to help you make the most of every single day, not wasting a single moment out of hesitation or fear, or even thinking that you’ll get around to it later. Believe me, later isn’t something we can count on. Now is all we have, and truly, it is more than enough! And you are more than enough, if you would just see the whole truth of your wonderful, complicated, messy, beautiful Self. This is where I come in. Let me hold space for you while you re-discover yourself.

If you would like to work with me, subscribe to my newsletter, and save ₹500 on your initial 60-minute consultation with me. I would love to get to know you better, and see how I can help you.

Wishing you light and healing on your journey.

Saatvika MAmrita is a wonderful EFT practitioner. She is patient, kind, listens deeply, and is intuitive. She has worked me through a lot of sessions when I was going through an emotionally challenging period, and when intense feelings came up for healing, she was there to help me gently work through them. She is very confident about her skills, and makes her clients feel safe and relaxed. Apart from that, she is a beautiful human being with a kind soul, and healing comes to her naturally. Her clients are in very good hands! 🙂

DonnaWMEFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) was new to me when I scheduled sessions with Amrita. I am amazed at the results EFT brings. I found Amrita to be a skilled, professional, caring practitioner, who can really find the root of the matter of what was troubling me. She is very thoughtful about the questions she asks in each session. She showed me how, and where, to tap. She brought in humor at just the right time to help me heal. I will continue to schedule sessions with Amrita and I highly recommend her services. In addition, Amrita is skilled in NLP, Clinical Hypnotherapy, and Matrix Reimprinting.
